a Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1992 The Lima News-A5 Leonard C. Karhoff GLANDORF Leonard C. Karhoff, 67, died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday at his residence.

He was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Glandorf, the son of Bernard and Philomena Selhorst Karhoff. On June 10, 1953, he married Dolores Maag, who survives. Mr. Karhoff was retired from Glandorf Tile Company in Glandorf.

He was a a a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glandorf, and its Holy Name Society; the Leipsic Fish and Hunt Club; the Ottawa American Legion; and a life member of the Ottawa Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors also include four Roarhoff, Duane both of Karhoff Ottawa and Ron and Denny Karhoff and Bill Karhoff, both of Glandorf; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Beverly) Bockrath of Batavia and.

Annette Karhoff, at home; five grandchildren; two brothers, Virgil Karhoff and Linus Karhoff, both of Glandorf; and one sister, Mrs. Karl (Helen) Butler of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Karhoff a and one sister, Norma Ducey. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at SS.

John the Baptist Church Restoration Fund. Lois E. Sorg VAN WERT Lois E. Sorg, 78, of Arbors Nursing Home in Fort Wayne, died at 11:25 p.m. Monday at St.

Joseph Medical Center in Fort Wayne, following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 4, 1914, in Ohio City, the daughter of Walter McKinley and Nina Mae Profit Rhodes. She married Elmer T. Sorg, who died in 1958.

Mrs. Sorg retired in 1967 as nurse for General Electric Corp. in Fort Wayne. She had also been a public health nurse in Van Wert and worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.

She was a graduate of St. Rita's Hospital School of Nursing in Lima, had attended the University of Denver and was past matron of Hyler Chapter 432 Order of the Eastern Star, Ohio. Survivors include one son, Walter Sorg of Boise, and one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Zanoni of Anaheim, Calif. She was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Profit Rhodes.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Cowan and Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, Dr. Gerald Jones officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City. Friends may call noon until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

James E. Lynch ST. MARYS James E. Lynch, 70, died at 8:56 a.m. Tuesday at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St.

Marys. He was born July 30, 1922, in -St. Marys, the son of John F. and Lyda E. Moeller Lynch.

On May 17, 1947, he married Wilma E. Glass, who survives. Mr. Lynch was a supervisor with Goodyear in St. Marys, retiring in November 1983 after 42 years service.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. He was a life member and past commander of Robert Lee Griner Post 9289, Veterans of Foreign Wars in St. Marys, past commander of Ohio District. 2 Veterans 0 of Foreign Wars, life member of St.

Marys Post 323. American Legion and life member of Pup Tent 6, Military Order of Cooties, Lima. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 767, St. Marys and Veterans Service Commission of Auglaize County. He was a 1941 graduate of St.

Marys Memorial High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater. also include two daughters, Mrs. Hanley (Elaine) Evans and Mrs. Rocky (Kathy) Clark, both of St.

Marys; five grandchildren; six brothers, Charles Lynch of Lima, Donald Lynch of Wapakoneta, Thomas Lynch of Bellefontaine, and William J. Lynch, Joseph Lynch and Robert Lynch, all of St. Marys; and four sisters, Mrs. James (Mary Ann) Dekker of St. Petersburg, Mrs.

David (Betty) Durnell and Mrs. Bruce (Barbara) Bubp, both of St. Marys, and Mrs. Alice Anderson of Greenville. He was preceded in death by two sons, John' and Michael Lynch; and three grandsons.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, Rev. David A. Heinl officiating.

Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys, with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 9289. Friday. Walter H. Davis VENEDOCIA Walter H. Davis, 74, of here, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday at his residence.

He was born Jan. 23, 1918, in Lima, the son of James and Hattie Hundley Davis. On Nov. 17, 1952 he married Jessie Carnahan, who survives in Venedocia. A World War II Army veteran, Mr.

Davis retired from the Ohio Electroplating Co. in Venedocia after 33 years of service. Also surviving are four sons, Jeffery Davis of Venedocia, Johnny Davis of South Bend, James Davis of Van Wert and Jerry Davis of Wapakoneta; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Garland Davis, Earl Davis and Leland Davis of Venedocia; and a sister, Velma Lucile Zent of Huntington, Ind. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Davis and Elry Davis. Services will be at 3 p.m.

On Dec. 27, 1950, she married Raymond L. Cross who survives. Mrs. Cross was co-owner of Cross Auto to Wrecking in Delphos.

She attended Bethel Mennonite Church, Delphos, and was a member of Club 44. Survivors include four sons, Raymond Cross Jr. and Timothy L. Cross, both of Delphos, Mark K. Cross of Toledo and Randy J.

He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Daniel was a retired United Methodist Minister having served at American Sunday Schodl Union, Barbourville, Florida Circuit, Florida, Ohio, Full Member of the Ohio Conference Methodist Church, Ohio City Circuit, Coldwater Circuit, Haviland-Scott Circuit, Farmer Circuit, Vaughnsville Circuit, Brigsdale Church, Columbus, Mount Blanchard, Western Avenue, Toledo, Bethany-Oregon and Omega Parish, Portsmouth District. He retired from West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was a 1933 graduate United Seminary in Dayton. He also graduated from Indiana University.
