COMMISSIONERS, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? YEAH, GUYS, COUNTY COMMISSIONER BRIAN MOEN TELLS ME, ALTHOUGH TODAY’S REQUEST WAS DENIED, THE COUNTY IS STILL EXPLORING OTHER OPTIONS TO STILL LAND ON THIS SITE. A MOTION TO DENY PASSES 7 TO 1 IN IMMEDIATE REACTION POURING IN FROM THE DALE CITY COMMUNITY AFTER OKC CITY COUNCIL DENIED A ZONING REQUEST FOR THE NEW JAIL TUESDAY. I’M A LITTLE EMOTIONAL RIGHT NOW. I GOT A FROG IN MY THROAT TO OKLAHOMA COUNTY. COMMISSIONERS CHOSE THE SITE ALONG EAST GRAND BOULEVARD NEAR DELL CITY AS THEIR PICK FOR THE NEW JAIL AND HOPED FOR A GREEN LIGHT FROM OKC CITY COUNCIL. HOWEVER, COMMISSIONER BRIAN MONT TELLING ME THE FIGHT STILL ISN’T OVER. THERE’S A SUPREME COURT CASE THAT GIVES US SOME ROOM TO THINK THAT THAT’S AN OPTION, BUT WE’LL HAVE TO PROBABLY GO SEE WHERE THE CITY STANDS ON THAT. AND, UH, ALSO KNOW WHERE WE’RE GOING TO GO FROM HERE AS FAR AS THE SITE. BUT FOR NOW, SOME ARE JUST CELEBRATING THIS WIN. I FELT LIKE I RAN A MARATHON ON AND RELIEF. YEAH, I’M WIPED OUT RIGHT NOW. AND COMING UP TONIGHT AT FIVE, WE’RE ACTUALLY DIGGING INTO HOW COMMISSIONER MONE THINKS THIS WILL WORK AND WHAT THE CITY OF DALE CITY HAD TO SAY ABOUT IT. REPORTING LIVE IN OKLAHOMA CITY,
