If you watch just one thing today, make it this... 💗 🏥 Every week in the UK & Ireland 70 people suffer an aortic dissection. Sadly, half die.An aortic dissection occurs when there is a partial tear in the aortic wall. It is a time critical medical emergency that (when diagnosed and treated on time) has a better than 80% survival rate. Sadly 33% of those suffering from an aortic dissection are misdiagnosed, including my mum. An aortic dissection can happen at any age, and without any apparent warning. 2000 lives are lost in the UK every year, and it's estimated that 10 people die a week due to misdiagnosis. Please take a few moments to look at the excellent work of The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust https://lnkd.in/dB2wMv8qThe lack of aortic dissection knowledge, management and skills is wholly inadequate in the UK. Let's drive the change to improve awareness and patient outcomes.#aorticdissection #aorticdissectionawarenesshttps://lnkd.in/dHHSRCJH

💭 Many people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are not aware of all of the benefits that they could be entitled to. We wanted to help change this so in September 2022, we set up a dedicated benefits calculator for people with CKD. 📈 We have seen an incredible 3,887 people complete their personalised benefits calculations since we launched. Staggeringly, a third of those calculations have been completed since the beginning of 2024. This highlights more than ever how much people living with CKD are struggling during the #CostofLivingCrisis and how many people need the help of charities like Kidney Care UK. ➕ Find out today if there are any benefits you may be eligible for by clicking here:https://lnkd.in/ewKG5Ryf ❗ Remember, if you are struggling, you are not alone. We are here if you need financial, practical or emotional support:https://lnkd.in/eyxR9J3w
